Apple's upcoming in-house Maps application for iOS will feature construction alerts, notes AppAdvice.
The Maps app now includes an important tool for travelers. Now, whenever there is construction ahead, or near you, you'll see a Roadwork sign. Clicking on this will give you more information on the work being done, including the project's start date, and description. In addition, the Maps app includes a new zoom feature. Using it, drivers can see street names fading in and out.
With each beta of iOS 6, Apple has been improving the Maps app and adding functionality. In the last beta Apple expanded the number of cities with 3D support.

Couldn't agree more..I love iphone..and recently bought the 4S as well..but really SIRI is useless..can't find anything for me..keeps coming back and saying "Sorry I can't search this for you"..but nonetheless...I am sure google will come up with their independent maps app..if not then I still have faith after jailbreaking it might be possible :-)
