Pod2g has announced the successful untethered jailbreak of the iPad 3 on iOS 5.1. Up next, he will try to jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1.
Hey. iPad 3,1 running iOS 5.1 untethered. Next on the list: stabilizing the payload, then trying 5.1.1.
If it works on iPad 3 and iPhone 4, I can say it'll work on any device. The ATV3 may be out tho… :/
Last week, pod2g announced that he had performed an untethered jailbreak of the iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1. We still haven't received any confirmation that his exploits will work on iOS 5.1.1; although, @pimskeks said his 'exploits are still good on 5.1.1' which is a good sign.

All I know is the PWNED logo has lost its effect!! In the past, seeing this logo was a big and exiting news... Now is nothing more than any other iclarified baseless rumor

As much as I appreciate the announcements, the more I see how useless they are. Fault is on both ends though. If you've jailbroken before and updated, Shame on you. Always always stay at least 2 firmware releases back lol. And the Devs waste time by posting this stuff and then release it a month later. I appreciAte the updates, but they can hold off til it's ready.

Learn to read? They're obviously excited because a jailbreak for the iPad 3 has been announced, one which WILL be released. i0nic likes to hog his jailbreaks just to brag about them. You'll probably be one of the first in line to receive pod2g's jailbreak despite bashing him repeatedly in this thread, am I right?

I agree. If only comex, geohot, & ionic all worked together. They would probably release the jb much earlier without any b.s. It also pisses me off that he updates his status on the jb instead of only releasing official jb. He gets money from ppl and takes his sweet time. Okay, great he jailbroke 5.1! Do I care? No! Now 5.1.1 came out and we all have to wait longer for a new jailbreak. This is very frustrating. Forgive me if it is hard work to jb but I personally believe that if other hackers cared bout the new jb, it would have been released way early.

something you might find interesting..on pod2g's blog, his latest post that has the jb video, and the credits, he mentions @comex as one of the guys who had a part in the jb..interesting, hey! hopefully comex has been doing some behind the scenes hacking, and when he quits apple, a jailbreak from him will be ready to pop!

Why would you buy an ipad 3, knowing it can't be jailbroken, though it seems your lifr depends on a jailbreak? If he releases his jb, i hope that everybody who is on here to call him horrible names, will brick their devices! I just want to thank him for his effort and time he is putting in this! And yes, i have an iphone 4s on 5.1, but my lifr does not depend on a jailbreak of my phone. If it comes... Great! If not... I'll just move on! Get a life beside you ideveices! Come on!
