Apple is offering MobileMe customers a free copy of Snow Leopard to help them upgrade to iCloud, reports Macgasm.
In an article sent to MobileMe customers, Apple has recommended that potential customers get in touch with Apple to receive a free DVD of Snow Leopard so that users can upgrade to Lion, and move to iCloud. All you have to do is follow this link, log in to MobileMe with your Mobile Me account, and fill out your mailing information. Apple will then send you a Snow Leopard DVD for free.
This offer will save you $29.00 on the price of Snow Leopard. To get iCloud you will still need to pay $29.99 for OS X Lion.
This is the subliminal message of that offer.
1. Please take a copy the leftover of our old operating system, help us get rid of it.
2. Install it and pay us $30 to obtain our latest software.
3. Thank you for leaving our MobileMe servers. You have been fooled.
Even if they were using snow leopard they would still have to pay 29.00 for lion. At least this way they'll safe 29.00 by not having to buy snow leopard and just buying lion. I don't see what the problem is here really. When it comes to technology don't expect for everything to last forever cause technology has to evolve and if you want to keep up with you must adapt
