A slick 50-inch TV spotted in Jonathan Ive's locked-down studio has again sparked rumors about an upcoming television from Apple. USA Today reports that the television was seen by one of their sources who worked at Apple and says the company is looking to build a 42-inch or larger LCD with built-in Wi-Fi.
Unfortunately, it appears that Apple is having a hard time getting content deals for the device.
They say Apple has been unable to cut deals that would let it offer first-tier TV network programs for an à la carte iTunes TV service. That's seen as a key element to launching a revolutionary iTV. Since there also is no evidence Apple has ordered production of panels for TVs, an iTV is at least a year away, according to analyst Paul Gagnon at DisplaySearch, a firm that tracks the television supply chain.
Apple is widely expected to build a new control system for the television which would likely involve Siri voice recognition. The current Apple TV can be controlled by the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using Apple's Remote app.
And I just heard form a guy, who heard from another guy, who heard from a girl who was in BMW's secret lab, that they too have a 50 inch TV in there. Looks like BMW is looking to produce M-Power TVs... right... ?
A-class rumour to me.. all of it.
... Songs and movies will be streamed directly from iTunes which will be on server (Cloud if you want). You will play ONLY things you purchased directly over internet ;) This is how Apple works ;)
One recommendation for apples new tv is able to play music on your itunes account or the music on your itunes on your computer over home network. Kind of like stream the music off your router as the middle man you just need the itunes open on the computer. Once that song is finished it should ask you should we save it in the hard drive which should be built into the tv but is removable. Thus letting you save music you played from your computer over the router to the tv. Same with movies as well! I have good ideas. If you reject this idea reply to this comment with a slightly better solution.
