Analyst Gene Munster is so confident that Apple is going to release a television next year, he is already telling those looking to buy a television to wait, reports Business Insider.
Speaking at the IGNITION: Future of Media conference, Munster revealed the following beliefs about Apple's upcoming device:
● It will be a full fledged television set rather than a set top box because Apple thinks people hate to plug things in. ● It will come in a range of sizes in order to appeal to large amount of people. ● It will be priced at TWICE the cost of a normal television. ● It will seamless integrate with other Apple devices, and though it will come with a remote, it can also be controlled by iPhone, iPad, or Siri. ● It will be able to download content, games, and apps from iTunes, the App Store, and iCloud. ● It will think the way you do. ie. Instead of trying to remember what channel is ESPN is on, for example, you'll just fire up (or say) "ESPN." ● It will still require a cable subscription and cable box since Apple can't get all the content otherwise; however, all you have to do is screw in the co-ax cable. ● It will launch for the holiday season next year.
What ever happened to cable card and the elimination of the set top box? Do Motorola, Comcast, cox, and the others still think they deliver a content experience users want?
Give us cable card and any device we want!
Better yet, no cable cards like we always wanted, but a digital subscription to the providers we already have cable with.
No extra hardware would be needed.
If digital cable is turned on at my house why the hell can't the tv play it unrestricted if I have a contract with provider?
