Microsoft's TellMe Versus Apple's Siri [Video]

Posted November 26, 2011 at 7:38am by iClarified
Microsoft Chief Research and Strategy Officer Craig Mundie says Windows Phone 7 has long had Siri functionality, so TechAU put TellMe to the test.

In an interview with Forbes, Mundie said, "The TellMe facility has been in Windows Phone 7 for more than a year. I just think people are infatuated with Apple announcing it... You're right it's good marketing but at least as a technological capability you could argue that Microsoft has had a similar capability in Windows Phones for more than a year, since Windows Phone 7 was introduced... All that's already there, fully functional, been there for a year."

Anyone who's used both devices would likely call Mundie's statement absurd but have a look at the comparison below and let us know what you think...

The Microsoft version is crap. Siri does everything right 99% of the time and has more functions.

Everyone knows Microsoft is a joke with phones. When the iPhone 5 comes out it's gonna crush windows to a silent death. Mark my words.

At Least noone can say they didn't try lol. It's too bad, they actually have a pretty polished UI on their phones. (Android FTW)

They called it 4S ... so it's the 4S. Since they're the ones who make it's fare they get to choose the name. Anyway ... since the 4S is a "tuned" iPhone 4 the name makes sense ...

I think Microsoft need a few more years to figure out the meaning of " functionality". Greatest joke of the year 2011

Another example of Microsoft FUD style of selling. Though in this case it looks like a R(eassure) A(nxious) C(lients) by K(omparing) using E(rroneous) T(ales) [RACKET} that windows is as good, if not better than Apple. Twisting what Steve Jobs had said a bit - nothing original about the Microsoft implication.

Hahaha that windows phone is soooo bad!! It's like a Nokia with voice recognition from 2002. Siri is awesome and a brutal winner of this battle!'
