Apple has built in a new security feature into the 2.1 firmware which performs a data wipe after 10 failed passcode attempts.
This feature can only be confirmed in the iPod 2.1 firmware for now; however, it is very likely that the iPhone 2.1 firmware will have it as well.
The iPhone 2.1 firmware is due for release tomorrow according to Steve Jobs' keynote address. Please do not upgrade your iPhone to 2.1 if you have or wish to pwn your phone. Wait until an update is available for PwnageTool
