Apple and China Mobile may be in the "final stages" of negotiations for bringing the iPhone to China, according to the 21st Century Business Herald.
In a separate report, China Communications has also claimed similar progress in talks and suggested that China Mobile was ready to provide a large subsidy, similar to that provided by other countries.
"Steve Jobs and I hope the iPhone will enter China as soon as possible," Wang Jianzhou told reporters today. "We are discussing this issue but we do not have an agreement." Jianzhou further explained that he is under a non-disclosure clause.
Reaching a deal with China Mobile may be extremely profitable for Apple. The cellular carrier has 415 million cellular subscribers. Even a small percentage of sales would mean huge success.
