MuscleNerd has announced that the UltraSn0w unlock will get iOS 5 support by tomorrow.

will coordinate ultrasn0w iOS5 compatibility update to come out *after* a planned MobileSubstrate update tomorrow

The UltraSn0w unlock supports devices on the 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, and 06.15.00 basebands. You can determine your baseband by following these instructions.

If you are on one of these you can upgrade to iOS 5 without updating your baseband using this tutorial. You will then be able to follow these instructions to unlock, once the Dev-Team updates UltraSn0w tomorrow.

Follow us on Twitter or Facebook to find out when the RedSn0w for Windows and UltraSn0w become available.

Like I said last year and I'll say it again, unlock for the new basebands have been CLOSED!!!! No matter what devteam says they are lying there is NO more NEW unlocks. Don't you guys see it's been since last sept they been saying we have it but were waiting for the new software.... BS!!! They been bought out by apple no more NEW unlocks.

You are actually very correct. I don't think Jailbreaking has been bought out, but from the trend of things Apple has shown proof to gobble up important jail breakers and jailbreak Devs by giving them jobs, namely comex and the guy who did the iOS notification. Everyone better get used to non-jailbreak devices because in 2-3 years Saurik will be given 100 million easy and Cydia will come crashing down.

so still no real work has been done on the unlock for any other baseband version. sure alot of work has gone into this previously but its been over a year since anything substantial has been released..

Just to make everyone aware, this is not a *new* unlock, it's just the current unlock updated so it works on iOS 5 (so this only works on iPhone 4 phones that have the original baseband from 4.0). So if you updated to iOS 5 and you didn't preserve your baseband, you're out of luck.

If your jailbreak is tethered your unlock is tethered
