Apple has announced to developers that it will delete all current iTunes Match iCloud libraries.
To continue to improve the overall quality and reliability of iTunes Match, it has become necessary to delete all current iCloud libraries.
All iCloud libraries will be deleted on Monday, September 26th at 9AM PDT. To prepare, please turn off iTunes Match on all of your computers and iOS devices. On your computer, choose Store > Turn off iTunes Match. On your iOS device, tap Settings > Music, then turn off iTunes Match.
The songs on your computer should not be affected. As always, please backup regularly and do not delete the music you add to iCloud from your computer.
Um, are you a developer running iOS 5? I somewhat doubt it... If you read the first sentence it might make more sense...
iCloud is beta right now, and apple can and should delete files as necessary to get it ready for release. Quite a lot of services do that during the development stages so there really is nothing to complain about.
WHAT!! are you serious, apple's like 'hey yo got a virus, now we're deleting whats on our servers and we'll copy alll the music back from your individual itunes to start over.
Apple actually informed all beta testers in advance of any iCloud testing that they'd be clearing their databases as necessary during the development. This is one of those times. They've been surprisingly infrequent. In the case of Match, not much is really being deleted since most people are finding that it's not yet at the stage where it's actually uploading most unmatched tracks. Rather, Apple appears to be fine-tuning their matching algorithms to better figure out matches where tags don't match their store metadata exactly (such as when you do your own rips or edit your tags). Matched tracks go live in iCloud, but only a few unmatched tracks actually upload. I suspect they don't want to waste bandwidth on mistakes just yet.
where is "MUSIC" on iOS devises. i can't seem to find it. i Have an iPhone 4 and an iPad. they both don't seem to have "Music" option in settings.
i could only find the option "Music" on my iPod touch. and even it don't seem to have the option "turn off iTunes match"
