A near final build of iOS 5 with Nuance Dictation speech-to-text and FaceTime over 3G is being tested by carriers, reports 9to5Mac.
Apple's most prominent carrier partners have been seeded near-final builds of iOS 5 for final testing. This build is newer than the betas seeded to developers and includes some unique features. According to a source testing this build, FaceTime over 3G is active. According to this source, testers are being instructed that 3G FaceTime testing is a high priority. What is still up for discussion, though, is whether or not this feature will reach end users in iOS 5.
Notably the rumored iOS 5 personal assistant feature is missing from the builds seeded to carriers. Either Apple has delayed its launch or perhaps its keeping the feature as a top secret, iPhone 5 only exclusive.
The site also reports that Apple's career partners are also beginning iCloud and iOS 5 training. Recently, Apple employees began this training as well.
Yet another jailbroken feature added to official ios builds. im surprised apple still hasnt been sued over john hughes' wifi sync app/icon use as it was rejected in os 3.x by apple. facetime over 3G has been available in cydia since 4.0 was released via added source: http//:sinfuliphonerepo.com and the add on settings feature was called facebreak (facetime over 3G network) which also supports t-mobile's 2G/EGDE network for facetime (yes edge performance facetime is horrible, but it does work). I think apple should repay jay freeman and the dev team for all of their hard work in the jailbreak community as cydia is where an extremely high volume of ios and app development takes place and apple simply copies all of the best ideas from cydia and the app developers receive nothing in return from apple for all the hard work that went into the making of the jailbroken tweak/app/settings modifications. 4 examples: homescreen backgrounds, wifi tethering (mywi), wifi sync (john hughes' app rejected previously by apple) and facetime over 3G now (facebreak).
I hope the address the unresponsive home button issue!! Before you guys start saying its a hardware issue... Google it or go to Apple Support forum. It has almost 46 thousand views and more replies then Amy other post!!
