Apple iAd VP to Depart for Highland Capital?

Posted August 17, 2011 at 4:44pm by iClarified
Apple head of iAd, Andy Miller, is planning on leaving the company to become a partner at Highland Capital, according to AllThingsD sources.

Sources said Miller - who sold Quattro Wireless, the mobile advertising company he co-founded in 2006, to Apple in early 2010 for $275 million - will become a general partner at Highland Capital, the Boston-based venture firm that had funded Quattro. Apple will search for a replacement for Miller, whose staff was told of the impending departure today.

Commenting on the acquisition of Quattro, Steve Jobs said: "We tried to buy a company named AdMob, but Google came in and snatched them from us. So we bought Quattro, and they are teaching us. We are making ads that are different than anything I've ever seen."

Apple PR hasn't commented on the news as of yet.

Seems like all the visionaries are leaving apple and only Jobs and the in crowd are staying... Probably out of loyalty to Jobs. People aren't buying into the product that was once Apple Macintosh. Now it's Apple iProducts for the masses :(
