Apple has just released iOS 5 Beta 4 to developers for download. Alongside the new firmware comes Xcode 4.2 Developer Preview 4 and iTunes 10.5 beta 4.
Issues in this Version: NEW: In this beta iPhone 4 device cannot join personal hotspot even if it is on due to a non functional WiFi tethering on these devices. NEW: iOS 5.0 terminates VoIP applications that are resumed in the background for incoming network traffic with extreme frequency. Developers are encouraged to make sure all incoming data is read from VoIP sockets to avoid this condition. NEW: When tweeting your location from Safari and exiting before the location can be established, the location arrow will stay in the status bar. The arrow can be removed by killing Safari from the task switcher. NEW: In some cases, syncing photos may result in only thumbnails on your device. If this happens, unsync Photos then re-sync again. NEW: Some songs are missing their album artwork after changing the device library via syncing. NEW: Forwarding a message with attachments included does not attach the file and the message compose screen does not change from "Loading...." NEW: In MobileMe local contacts are deleted instead of be being merged. FIXED: In this beta FaceTime icon is missing in Settings on the iPhones.
All I want to know is....When can a triple O.G hacker make IOS5 available to the masses that want to "try it out" w/out having to have one of those developer I.D's...call me selfish but FALL is TOO far away IMO :-\
I won't call you selfish... Just cheap. Pay a Dev a few bucks to register your phone and have at it with the betas. I did it for $5 usd and have been able to utilize every beta since beta 1.
It's a beta. There's bound to be bugs. But why it has new bugs every time is a mystery. The point of having multiple betas is to reduce the bugs each time b
Is it me or... besides adding wifi sync to later betas... Beta 1 had the most promise!? Every release since has sucked... FaceTime issues, imessage problems, reminders there not there... Etc.
I truley think apple is mucking up betas to discourage all but the developers of iOS apps.
I'm definitely not the smartest man in the world, but read where it says "Issues in this version" and I think you'll understand what he means...that's if you even read the whole article to begin with. SMH
