A recently leaked photo of the supposed iPhone 5 back cover may have actually been taken by an iPhone 5, according to some photoshop gurus at iFans.
The site noticed that in the image you can see a reflection of the device that shot the photo. When carefully analyzed you can see that the device not only has an Apple logo but also has its flash and camera module separated.
While this isn’t a completely conclusive photo, we do believe that the camera used to take the photo was a working, prototype iPhone 5. Whether by accident or not, the photo was posted on Sina (the Chinese version of Twitter), and was picked up from there. Nobody else seemed to notice the reflection on the backplate, except for a few of our commenters (I didn’t notice it myself when I posted on it). This type of faking would take a lot of skill, time, and precision; more, I would think, than a prank would be worth.
You can check out the enhanced reflection below or hit the link for even more analysis images.
@rock. Do you really think the main reason Apple made the 3GS in the same form factor was to allow users to use the same cases they had for the 3G? And thus lose money on licensing or accessory sales? Your reasoning is faulty.
Not just that, but the 3G to 3Gs transition had none of the same issues that the iPhone 4 has had. The antenna-gate problem is one. Also, the complaints of picture quality with the flash so close to the sensor is reason enough for a rework.
The comparison is useless. iPhone 4gs in July.
i wouldn't think apple will release a phone like that on the picture.
its the same design as iPhone 4 but relocated flash and camera?
the 3g and 3gs are designed the same so people can use the same cases, that would mean the same thing for the iPhone 4s.
if it's a new redesigned iPhone 5 or whatever it will be called, then i guess it calls for a newer case.
