Apple is reportedly working on an ambitious remote computing system that will be enabled using an NFC (Near Field Communication) iPhone, according to CultofMac.
Apple is working on a system that allows users to log into another computer using an NFC-equipped iPhone. The iPhone pairs with the host machine, and loads the users files and settings over the net. Its as though the user is sitting at their own machine at home.
According to our source, who asked not to be named, when a NFC-equipped iPhone is paired with a guest machine, part of the users profile includes the apps theyve purchased through the Mac App Store.
Users will be able to load apps that they've purchased to create and save files. The files will then be saved to the cloud and when the user is done the apps they've loaded will be deleted from the local computer.
"When you return to your home computer, your stuff is there waiting for you," the source said.
CultofMac notes that while this system is begin developed it may not see the light of day. Their source also did not have knowledge of whether NFC would make it into this year's iPhone 5 or not.
