Apple Edges Out RIM in U.S. Smartphone Market Share

Nielsen reports that the Apple iPhone and RIM Blackberry are caught in a statistical dead heat with iPhone edging out RIM to capture the greater smartphone market share in the U.S.
The iPhone has 27.9% market share while RIM has 27.4%.
Also of note, Nielsen reports that when mobile users who planned to upgrade to a smartphone in the next year were asked about their next phone, Apples iOS and Android were tied for "most desired" operating system.
