BestBuy is offering to install a free invisibleSHIELD 4FIX wrapper to resolve reception issues with the iPhone 4.
According to a document obtained by Engadget, the clear protective film will be installed by BestBuy onto the edges of the iPhone 4 for any owner of the device. Zagg has posted video evidence that the invisibleSHIELD improves reception issues which can be seen here.
Sounds like a good way to get customers into their stores. You can view the flyer below...
they are SUPPOSED TO INSTALL it. i haven't read the press release fine print. but they are supposed to. they did ours at least. they are also offering 20% off iphone 4 cases too (didn't take advantage).
my wife and i just got ours done. for those that run into a wall, they do offer for ALL customers. the clerks were trying to figure out how to ring the item up (special SKU). they literally got the update and were working on it as we walked in. hey, if it works i'm certainly happy.
I was in there today they just simply asked if I bought it from best buy. I said yes and they said ok and did it the guy was supernice about it and installed it. It looks really good to me I like it.
Well I bought a screen protector that fit the whole phone: front , back, and all over the metal bands on the sides. It's not an inivisibleSHIELD and it only cost $10 shipped, but it did not solve the death grip problem. I don't even have to death grip it to make it lose reception. Just letting you guys know that it might not work. On the other hand my brother got his bumper in the mail today and it looks pretty damn sleek !! Not bad at all
Just called Best Buy to confirm, and yes they do offer this for FREE... HOWEVER...
the catch: only if you bought your iphone 4 at BB will you get it for free, otherwise it is $10
Well I took a piece from my old invisible shield to put on the iphone 4 just to check if bars drop, and they do. So really this is useless unless the iphone 4 invisible shield has some sort of coating to protect the antenna from dropping bars? I did call bestbuy and they said they will be getting them tonight, but I already ordered my otterbox...oh well I really want to see if this works or not ;)
