Apple has been deleting discussion threads about the Consumer Reports article 'not recommending' the iPhone 4, according to TUAW.

If you were looking for a message thread on Apple's support forums pointing to Consumer Reports' article 'not recommending' the iPhone 4, it's not there any more. Apple's support forum moderators deleted the thread. Bing cached it. If it happened once, maybe you'd say it was a glitch. But what if it happened twice? Three times? Four times, five, six?

TUAW notes that this isn't the first time Apple has deleted discussions board threads which were negative to the company's image. In fact, they estimate its closer to the fiftieth time.

Interestingly, despite being unable to recommend the iPhone 4, Consumer Reports gave it the highest ranking in its latest smartphone ratings.

The 3GS does Also have the problem of signal loss. If I hold it by its top left corner only, I get -93 signal strength. I dont use a case. But if I hold it in my left hand and let my fingers cover the bottom right side of the phone, my signal drops to -113, which is equivalent to all the bars being flat.

Apple deleted my thread about warning people NOT to upgrade their iPhone 3G to iOS4, as it rendered my phone useless. The simply deleted it. This is typical of today's new way of communicating. Stop responding / dont respond at all to email when the topic isnt what you like. Dont leave voice mails on people's phones but expect a call back. Dont listen to voicemails left on their phone and just call the person back asking "what did you want?"... And, finally, deleting posts that are truthful no matter how bad it looks in an effort to hope the problem goes away on its own.

I guess this goes to show no one can truly delete anything from the internet, as the saying goes "The Internet Is Forever!".

said it once, say it again: that is a support forum, not a discussion forum. it's only natural they delete those posts like they delete all other posts not related to support. people go there to seek help with their apple product, nothing else.

So true wolf, and that support forum is pretty tight. there are posts there about official apple recalls/defects, like the nvida chips and laptop batteries, and it is a good place to go to get things fixed. if you want to moan or flame, there's /. for that.
