Geohot has announced that he has jailbroken the iPhone 4.
As far as a release goes, it probably won't happen from me. limera1n is little more than a raindrop on a website; it was never mentioned by me previous to this post. pwned4life is a complete invention of some blogger in a basement somewhere. When I said pwned for life, I was referring to the original iPhone, 3G, and Touch; which of course are, by the aptly named PwnageTool. Again, please don't ask for release dates. Every person that does makes me want to release a little bit less.
Considering that there already is a userland jailbreak coming for all 4.0 devices; Geohot may save his exploit for the future.
i respect geohot for what hes done so far but i have to agree with alot of the comments on here. & he was kicked off the dev-team. anyone dont believe heres the link https://iclarified.com/1524
And what has he actually provided that is intellectually great?
He has talked about what he has done and that is the only reason he is being talked about. I have been around since the iPhone came out, admiring, using and contributing cash for the privilege of using the work that some of these brilliant people have put out and the bulk of it has come from others and not Geohot.
Ever since the first jailbreak, as soon as a new innovation is required Geohot jumps in and announces he has done it first but releases nothing. Actions should speak louder than words, but Geohot has learned that if he shouts first and loudest, he gets the public accreditation.
Seems like everybody now jailbreaks the iphone but doesn't want to release the jailbreak.........hey Geo......if you dont want to release the jailbreak....thats good but.....for all I know until you do this is photoshop....especially now that the new Photoshop CS5 is out.......so your words are falling on deaf ears

This is just what he said about 3.1.3 (untethered and never released!) and PS3 "Other OS", also never released to the public.
And now iOS 4, which humble Dev-Team are hard at work on.
For those claiming he does all this stuff for free, he's not.
God knows in what way people thank him and how many of those donate.

Yah, that is what he said on 3.1.3. let comex userland release the jailbreak and he will be waiting for firmware 4.0 release. Now iOS 4.0 is here, waiting for 4.xx before releasing?????????
They also say "The chances of anything coming from Mars, are a million to one" That's better odds than you would get for Geohot actually producing something instead of talking about it.

Every time i see something like this it makes me glad i jumped off the apple bandwagon.
the very fact you have to do this stuff to personalize the way "your phone you bought with your hard earned money!" looks,
harp on adnroid all you want, but my phone looks how i want it to look, not the way jobs tells me it will look.
To the guy that said he's on 3.1.2 I don't believe it's possible to downgrade the iPhone 4 to 3.1.2 since it was released and started on 4.0 that's just what's always been on cydias homepage since 3.1.3 was released
No diss as I appreciate His work in the past. But why mention it if there are no plans on his end to release the JB soon? We all know the iP4 is able to be jailbroken as we are waiting for it to be released. This was a very pointless mention iClarified.
It would appear that he merely DOWNGRADED the device to 3.1.2.
Notice in the picture, at the bottom of the iPhone screen, "Upgrading to 3.1.3?"
I'd of been a lot more impressed if he was withholding an iOS4 Jailbreak, not teasing with already released material. Sure you can downgrade your iPhone 4, but if I wanted to use 3.1.2 I'd just buy a GS. Thanks anyway?
he he he's showing an iphone 4, did you see it, that means that came with OS4 out of the box, and also shows cydia what means that he just has jailbroken his iphone, that 3.1.3 advise it's from Cydia URL advertisement
This guy has problems. "Everyone that asks me about it makes me want to release it a little less". So if you don't want to release it, just don't tell people about your exploits and no-one will bother you, and you will be back to your life as a nobody. It's your choice, mate.
Now, if you want to tell people you can jb the iPhone, you'll have to put up with endless questions and not flame at people who want your help.
geohotz@ i hatsoff to your work......and i respect you a lot...bt whats the use of this jailbreak tool if your are not going to release and crushing everyones hope....people are disappointed because they have been eagerly waitiing for this tool and the end you hands up....this is not at al done ...plz release the jailbreak are else give us the date and do give us the freedom...
