There have been no official confirmations, however, industry sources tell the Toronto Star that Rogers Communications Inc. is hoping to include the iPhone as part of a campaign that focuses on "touch screen" phones, to be rolled out between May and July.
That date falls right in line with Apple's expected roll out of an updated version of the iPhone that runs on 3G networks.
This would also place the iPhone in RIM's backyard before it can unveil its response: a 3G version of the BlackBerry that is being called "Meteor."
It has been widely speculated that Roger's expensive and limited data plans have been the stumbling block to a Canadian iPhone. The company opposes Apple's improved pricing and packages since they enjoy a lack of competition and GSM alternatives. With the 3G iPhone expected to explode in popularity hopefully they have decided to get onboard.
