All four models of the upcoming iPhone 17 are now expected to have 12GB of RAM, according to a new report from leaker Digital Chat Station.
In a recent post on Weibo, the leaker said:
The iPhone 17 series will fully adopt Apple Intelligence and make extensive use of AI, so it will also move to 12GB of RAM across the lineup, paired with TSMC's N3p-based A19 Pro chip. Performance should see a significant boost.
Additionally, the leaker notes that Apple may move to higher performance RAM next year.
Additionally, from what I've heard from the supply chain, next year's iPhone 18 series will debut high-capacity 6-channel LPDDR5X memory, with a major focus on improving performance.
Notably, the prediction from Digital Chat Station aligns with a recent report from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said at least three of the four new iPhone 17 models would get 12GB of RAM. The increase is expected to benefit suppliers Micron and SK Hynix.
