How to Add Wireless Charging to Your iPhone 7 for $70 [Video]

It's now possible to add wireless charging to an iPhone 7 for $70 using an aftermarket kit sold by Strange Parts. The kit is made possible thanks to a circuit board (flex PCB) designed by Yeke.

Strange Parts has made an alpha version kit available that lets you add wireless charging to your iPhone 7.

This kit includes:
● A shiny red iPhone 7 shell with Strange Parts logo
● A wireless charging module
● Foam padding for the connector (double what you should need in case you screw up)
● An extra cable for the wireless charging module (in case you damage the existing one - requires simple soldering to swap out)
● Online installation instructions - both written instructions and a video, compiled by yours truly (with Yeke's help)

You can purchase the iPhone 7 Wireless Charging Kit for $70 at the link below! Depending on demand, kits for other iPhones may be made available in the future. Yeke's kit supports the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus but it's only sold in China.

Warning:
This kit is for adventurous souls only! It's an alpha version - as you saw from the video, it's a bit challenging to get working, and we're still continuing to refine the installation process. You'll also need to complete disassemble your phone and reassemble it in the new phone shell provided. So there's plenty of opportunity to break your phone.

This is crazy! Why do this when you can buy charger that goes to lightning conector and place it under case from 2$ on aliexpress?

My thoughts exactly. I'm guessing that this allows wireless charging to charge through the case of the phone itself. I'd rather have a custom built smart connector and wireless charging sticker to bring it to my phone than to do all this.

Yes! But to dismantle phone that you can not seal again to be water resistant is bs. Just wait for few months and go with upgrade.

Instead of $70, they should make that wireless charging part of the charging flex, like pre soldered to it, and then also include that into the back housing, and then also include the volume buttons and other small parts(except for the battery, back camera and motherboard of course) and then sell that for like $150, and offer $30 core return if the customer sends back the old back housing with the dock connector and small parts still in it or something like that.
