Readdle has announced new Drag & Drop functionality between its apps on iPad and a major update to its Documents app for iOS.
One of the iPad Pro’s main productivity features, that turns it into a powerful computing device according to Apple, is its ability to have two applications running on the screen at the same time. The iPad was screaming for drag & drop as a way to share content between two simultaneously running apps. Apple hasn’t introduced a way for those two applications to interact, but this didn’t stop our developers from finding a way to make cross app drag & drop work. We love a challenge!
Check out Drag & Drop in action in the video below. The feature works on iPad Pro models, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4.
Documents 6
A completely new design for Documents lets you use fewer taps to edit, zip, tag, move or sync files. Bigger file preview thumbnails give you a better idea of the content of that Excel spreadsheet or PPT presentation.
It has a prominent “+” button that allows you to import files, including documents from your computer, Dropbox, or any other source, in a jiffy. Files are organized into Folders exactly the way you are comfortable with. Select one or a few of them and simply drag them to the right location. It’s easy as that.
Now, you can open (a.k.a stream) photos, videos and music from any cloud storage, without downloading them.
You can download Documents 6 from the App Store for free.
