TSMC Begins Chip Production for the iPhone 8 [Report]

TSMC has begun chip production for the next generation iPhone, according to a DigiTimes report.

TSMC has begun 10nm chip production for Apple's next-generation iPhone 8 series, the sources said. Production was once affected by issues involving stacking components in the backend integrated fan-out packaging process, but they have already been solved, the sources said.

This corroborates a report from the Chinese Economic Daily News which recently claimed that supplier yield issues had been resolved and production of Apple's next generation device is on schedule.

Numerous analysts have claimed that the iPhone 8 could see a delayed release and severe supply shortages due to yield issues. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for latest updates.
