Saurik has announced the release of Cydia Extender, a new app that lets developers resign IPAs with just their mobile device. Cydia Extender can be installed with the latest version of Cydia Impactor.
It appears as though originally saurik believed that the Cydia Extender would work for all users; however, recently after release it was discovered that only developers could install it.
To the extent to which this project was potentially exciting, it essentially became a complete failure five minutes after release, so I'm just going to go to bed and leave it all very vague :/. (Maybe someone else will determine a way in which it is useful ;P.)
Notably, this is not the solution previously in development which aims to addressing the hassle of needing to resign yalu with Cydia Impactor every seven days.
Yes, (and note that Cydia Extender is not the aforementioned thing I wanted to build that got overly delegated to someone more qualified than me who got codenamed "Voldemort", but then seems to have languished and has ended up back on my todo list as of last week, but then rapidly got blocked on something I need from Voldemort).
Extender allows for IPAs to be installed via Safari by choosing the option to Open in Extender.
I need some info regarding jail breaking an iPhone 6 Plus which I bought. The phone is on IOS 10.2 Since apple has stopped signing 10.2. Is there any way for me to jailbreak ? Your input will be highly appreciated. Thanks
This is what you do with the Cydia Impactor.zip on the PC: 1. Extract the *.zip file with 7-zip. 2. Rename the Impactor.dat to Impactor.zip. 3. Extract the Impactor.zip with 7-zip. 4. Install the extender.ipa with Filza or AppCake on the iPhone (Appsync unified from Karen's repo) is required for this to work. Note that this only works for the extender.ipa to get a 1-year cert, I'm sure developers will find a way to install the Yalu102.ipa with safari and the embedded 1-year cert like Pangu did using the App Store infrastructure to make it happen.
Yes, it's a sign of good news, but for now unless you are a developer (as in you have an Apple Developer Account) this application is useless. It does however show that resigning applications locally from your iPhone is possible. Not to mention this wasn't the only team that's been working on a solution for this, there are other groups trying to find a workaround for this.
