Tim Cook Says Apple is 'Very Committed' to the Mac, 'Stay Tuned'

Apple CEO Tim Cook has responded to a customer's email questioning whether Apple is pulling away from the Mac.

Cook writes, "I love the Mac and we are very committed to it. Stay tuned."

MacRumors notes that it has been 479 days since the MacBook Pro was last updated, 550 days since a MacBook Air refresh, 694 days since a Mac mini update, and 995 days since the Mac Pro was updated.

Understandably, many Mac users are upset that Apple has let their Mac lineup fall so behind. That being said, its widely rumored that Apple will be unveiling some significant new Mac products this fall.

The MacBook Pro is expected to get a big update with a new OLED touch panel that replaces the function keys. Apple is also said to be working on a 5K display to replace the 27-inch Thunderbolt display it discontinued earlier this year.

As a MacBook user, I can't wait to see the next thing come for MacBook Pro Retina.

Yeah.... Very committed to remove the headphone jack from the Macs then as well and replace them with only proprietary lightning and W-chip audio! Sure thing! Why shouldn't everyone want to buy the ridiculously uuuugly airpods or the low Q beats stuff?

Yeah, I've been using MBPs since 2004, and I'm only on my second one. I'm currently using a mid 2010 15" MBP. When I got it, I fully loaded it, and have since upgraded the HD to a 1tb SSD. It's still a great computer, but I really want a new one. One of my biggest worries, is how tiny the included SSDs are these day, and the inability to easily upgrade. :( I really hope with all the other expected features, that at least a 1tb SSD will be an option.
