Apple has gifted a limited edition Pride 2016 Apple Watch band to employees who registered to participate in a Pride event this year.
Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a photo from the LGBT Pride parade in San Francisco on Twitter saying, "Happy Pride to everyone who turned out this weekend to celebrate! #applepride #pride2016"
The nylon Apple Watch band features rainbow colors and came with a note that reads...
Apple's first Diversity Network Association, Pride, turns 30 this year and we're thrilled to celebrate this tremendous milestone with you! As recognition for everyone who registered to participate in a Pride event this year we created something special.
This limited-edition band is a symbol of our commitment to equality and we hope you'll wear it with pride.
Check out the band in the photo below posted to reddit by Sakusuhon.

I don't have a problem with Tim Cook being gay or whatever, he's free to do whatever the he wants. My problem is that he uses Apple to promote "pride." Keep Apple stuff separate from the CEO's personal agenda.
If it's celebrating 30 years of DIVERSITY why just focus on gay pride? There are so many other bands you could make and sell along with this one and not just limit it to pride. It seems more like an agenda than trying to be diverse in my opinion. We have a huge racism issue, why not make a band for that too?!? Diversity isn't just about lifestyle it's about your origin and the equality of life around this green globe.
....And its unenlightened comments and attitudes like that displayed below that show me why Pride is still absolutely relevant and necessary - Apple, you set an inspirational example to the world. Thank you.
You're right, being gay doesn't mean that you can't have a sense of humour. But the comments below are not funny, they're not jokes... they're just hateful. I'm not gay, but I support gay equality and tolerance in every way. Even if I don't understand it or it makes me feel uneasy, that doesn't give me the right to make others suffer. People can post comments here from the safety of their anonymity, and say things that they'd never say in public. That's not right: we should behave on the internet just like we would behave face-to-face. Peace.
No, it is acceptable, but what difference does it make whether it's a choice to buy or not, why can't you just ignore it? It's not like it's taking a place of another wrist strap!
