Apple has released a new build of iOS 9.3 for the iPad 2 that likely fixes activation issues encountered by some users when updating.
When updating to iOS 9.3 on older devices, users were asked to enter their Apple ID and password. However, if the user didn't remember their password the device became stuck in an inactivated state.
"Updating some iOS devices (iPhone 5s and earlier and iPad Air and earlier) to iOS 9.3 can require entering the Apple ID and password used to set up the device in order to complete the software update," an Apple spokesperson told iMore. "In some cases, if customers do not recall their password, their device will remain in an inactivated state until they can recover or reset their password. For these older devices, we have temporarily pulled back the update and will release an updated version of iOS 9.3 in the next few days that does not require this step."
The new build of iOS 9.3 for iPad 2 is number 13E236. You can download it from here.
I'm sadly announcing that my next phone will be Android based. I've been iphone user since 2007. Loved designed, hardware, iOS wasn't bad since it was one of kind at the time and new technology that everybody accepted. I'm owner of iphone 6+ and stuck on 9.02 ios due to jailbreak availability. As I'm getting older, this cat and mouse game between apple and talented individuals is becoming frustrating. Back in a days there were a lot of news on progress on JB and estimated time of release, different methods, etc. Today, only one or two groups are active, on forums apple fans arguing with android fans about pointless stuff. So, I decided to check out android for a while. If I don't like it, I will be more than happy to go back to iphone. I hope younger generation figure out how to give iphone more freedom from these crazy closed system.
Latest bugs i found after update to ios 9.3 on my iphone 6.Click a link on safari and chrome did not responsive and when you hold the link, safari will freeze and crash.this is so frustrating because i use safari for browsing. Then the old bugs that still not fix is the whatsapp notifications cannot be clear.this problem also really annoying me.What happen in apple?ur software engineer is sucks.
