Apple Has Reportedly Scrapped Plans for a 4-inch iPhone 6c

Apple has scrapped its plans for releasing a 4-inch iPhone, according to Timothy Arcuri, an analyst with Cowen and Company.

Arcuri claims to have seen evidence of what he refers to as an iPhone 6c. The device was apparently showing up in Apple's supply chain from January to March; however, traces of the phone have since disappeared.

The analyst believes that Apple may have killed the device to prevent cannibalization of its larger phones.

"I think one of the reasons is because the iPhone 6 has sold so well," Arcuri said. "And they said, 'Look, why would we want to cannibalize? If we came out with an iPhone 6C, we would essentially cannibalize a price-reduced iPhone 6.'"

Notably, back in April, popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that despite rumors of a 4-inch iPhone 6c this fall, it was likely that the smaller device wouldn't arrive until next year.

I prefer the size of the 6 but they should make the smaller 4" 6c for the people who liked that size. Keep the 3 sizes. To me 4" is too small and 6plus is too big but people have their preferences. Give us 3 size choices.

The 5C was not a flop, it sold quite well, and it didn't suck for all the people that either liked it's styling or couldn't afford the higher priced models. Live and let live.

Flop my ass. Maybe Apple is saving the material for other products because 1. The 6c would probably look bad for how big it would be. 2. They're probably doing bigger things with more materials. 3. A 6c would barely be cheap compared to 5c.

All the kids who were fourteen Got cheap iPhone 4's (not 4S) about two years ago which hooked them on iMessage and/or FaceTime , from one ago they have used the colourful iPhone 5c to do the same. Many of the people who had iPhone4 (now older) have got iPhone 6 or 6 plus So by apple offering cheaper iPhones , apple secures future iPhones which are top at that time tone sold

No size is perfect. It's just a preference. Why do you think iPhone comes in 4 sizes now no matter what generation or how many there are now even if Apple doesn't sell them anymore? There's 3.5" 4" 4.7" and 5.5" and many people aren't being forced to buy just one size even if the CEO were to prefer only selling that kind of phone. Apple didn't abolish or recycle older iPhone so people wouldn't be forced to use what others would now. Sure Steve kept the same size back then, but that's how it was then before how it is now that many still choose what they best like. I still love my 5s and I wouldn't mind a 6 even if I still wanted to keep my 5s.
