Apple will release a new 15-inch MacBook Pro and 27-inch iMac on Wednesday, reports MacG. The report is based on sources that have been accurate in the past.
We have no further details. Especially on models that will move among the big iMac or on the presence or absence of an overhaul of their external keyboards, on the model of the MacBook.
The site notes that shipping estimates for the high end MacBook Pro are currently 2-3 weeks and low-end models with bumped processors ship in 1-2 weeks.
The iMac currently ships within a few days unless the graphics card on the high-end (non-Retina) model is bumped to a GTX 780m which results in a shipping time of 2-3 weeks.
It's likely that if updated, the 15-inch MacBook Pro would get a Force Touch trackpad, just like the 13-inch which was updated back in March.
I already ordered one (the 15" with the Retina display and Force track pad). I put my order in yesterday (Tuesday) and it's scheduled to ship in three weeks.
You couldn't access the 'order page' from the Apple site, but the link offered by iClarified allowed you to order a full day earlier.
Been thinking of selling my late 2011 MBP 17" to get this ! Just got it back from apple from a recalled video card that was done last month ! With Apple putting the chopping block on older units not sure when they'll put this to rest !
