The Samsung Galaxy S6 is Just as Bendable as the iPhone 6 Plus, More Likely to Break [Video]

Posted April 3, 2015 at 2:48pm by iClarified
SquareTrade has put the bendability of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to the test comparing it to the iPhone 6 Plus and the HTC One M9.

The iPhone 6 Plus bent under 110 lbs of pressure and reached its breaking point at 179 lbs. The HTC One M9 bent at 120 lbs but that is also when it broke because the power button was located at the center of the device. When the device bent the power button stopped working.

The new Galaxy S6 Edge bent at 110 lbs of pressure but unlike the iPhone 6 Plus, its display cracked at this point. The display was still working so SquareTrade kept bending and found that it broke apart entirely at 149 lbs.

SquareTrade says that for those concerned about bending the Galaxy S6 Edge may be worse than the iPhone 6 Plus.

"For Samsung fans it may be worse, instead of a bent phone they make have a pocket full of glass."

i think there is no need to compare any phone as we never bend any phone we purchase, the performance is what matters.and i love iPhone 6 plus.

I am actually happy for samsung, this will definitely make the s6 and samsung more popular no matter in a good or bad way. Laugh everyone, share to everywhere you want, make this viral, and I’m sure this will make the s6 launch even more popular. :D

Is anyone surprised by this? It's Samsung so it's expected to be of inferior quality. It was news with the iPhone because apple makes only quality so it was more noticeable but this is Samsung so it's expected for it to be crap.

Have you seen the bench mark tests when it comes to actually using the device? The S6 edge crap is slower when it comes to actually using the phone. Specs on paper don't mean shit when it doesn't perform. Quality over quantity.

This has always been the case with Samsung phones, their quality in smartphones has always been very low and the glass has always been brittle. The confusion plays in when people mistake gorilla glass for actually being durable when realistically it's only scratch resistant. But people don't want to believe that they bought a low quality device so they justify it with anything they can. I also think Samsung is behind the whole #bendgate thing and now it's coming back to bite them in the ass

A phone that is glass on the back is more likely to break than a phone with a metal casing? Who would have thought!?!...Good job iClarified.

It was Samsung who tried to bring down apple just because of the bendgate scandal and now they fall in their own Trap

The title of this article says s6, not the s6 edge, did they test the s6 or just the s6 edge?

What's the point, the thinner the phone the most likely it will bend? Pick the one that suits your need and take care of your investment.

To alert what big major cost it will be depending on how well the phone is made when it comes to bending it. For the 6, no big deal, for s6 you're looking for an entire screen replacement since the article mentions "when it's bent, s6 users may experience a pocket full of glass".

gamerscul9870 - April 3, 2015 at 2:52pm
That's what happens when you try to be thinner for a smaller product even for cheaply made material.

I didn't say anything about how I hated or liked the s6, I'm just saying about how Samsung fell for their own trick trying to be better by being thinner, but in my opinion, s6 isn't that great to me!
