How to Stop Music and Video Playback in iOS Using a Timer [Video]

These are instructions on how to stop music or video playback in iOS using a timer. You can follow this tutorial on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You may want to use this feature as a sleep timer, automatically stopping playback once you've drifted off.



Step One
Tap to launch Clock from your SpringBoard.



Step Two
Select Timer from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.


Step Three
Set the timer's duration, then tap When Timer Ends.


Step Four
Scroll down past the list of ringtones and choose Stop Playing. Then press the Set button at the top right of the screen.


Step Six
Tap Start to begin the timer. Once the countdown is complete, any music or video that’s playing will be stopped.
