Samsung will be the main supplier for Apple's next generation chip, according to Maeil Business Newspaper via Reuters.
The paper says that Samsung will be responsible for about 75% of production. It didn't offer any details on how much the contract is worth or who the other supplier/suppliers would be. However, it did say that Samsung will make the chips using its factory in Austin, Texas.
This report contradicts a previous one that suggested Apple would shift A9 production to TSMC because of its better yields.
U have made some good points and yes, Apple has great designs on their products but virtually everything is produced for them from the screen to the chips to the camera (. They use a Sony sensor on their camera). They even use Intel chips on some of their MacBooks. Apple is late to the 1080P display party when it comes to the IPhone cause only 6 has it. That is ok, cause PPI matters more. However, it ain't that easy to tell that a 500 PPI screen is that much better than a 300 PPI screen. Sometimes a 300 PPI screen could be as good or even better than a 500 PPI screen and Apple always has great looking screens regardless of the specs. (Specs are just numbers that doesn't always mean anything.) Bottom line: Apple started the great quality of a touchscreen phone and a great App Store setup that nobody else had in mind. Give Steve Jobs credit for that and then Android followed with its own success. Samsung has its own success in its hardware too, and at the end, both Apple and Samsung did copy stuff from each other but Samsung did copy more things that were patented.
The only reason Apple was late was because of the s models which mean minor updates, like little improvement. Late or not, it's never too late to have their success.
U got to understand that Apple isn't in the chip making industry like Samsung, TSMC, Qualcomm, or Intel. They have to buy and design the chips and a company like Samsung or TSMC produces it for them. There is nothing wrong with not being in the chip making industry.
If an architecture firm hires a construction crew to build a house according to their innovative design specs, then who owns the completed building? The architecture firm or the construction crew?
The chip has an apple logo for the reason. Samaungfabricates the chip app,e makes the rest. You need a few mental institutions to understand the reality check here. See how much sense it all makes with your atomic brain now? Case closed. Samsung copies Apple with everything new they make after all the mocking Samsung tried to prove here with brainwashing. Don't hurt yourself in confusion trying to take it all in.
