Since Gorilla glass is so impressive, why not laminate two or even three layers of Gorilla glass on windshields? Say if it is for two layers and by replacing the inner layer removes about 33% of weight, wouldn't two layer replacement be > 60% of weight savings? I'm sure this question is just the pink elephant in the room... So where is the Achilles heel in dual layer replacements?

Yeah sure. Not so many years ago we were going to have diamond coated windshields. Then more recently it was windshields with a hydrophobic coating. It's all Pop Mechanics bullshit dreaming.
