Two Kids Go iPhone 6 Bending in the Apple Store [Video]

Posted September 29, 2014 at 3:09pm by iClarified
A video has surfaced online showing two kids in the U.K. going into an Apple Store and bending the iPhone 6 Plus units on display.

The kids foolishly showed their faces at the start of the video then uploaded it YouTube, thinking they would not get caught. By the time they tried to take down the clip, it had already been mirrored and reuploaded to YouTube.

The video shows them trying to bend various iPhones 6 units in the store. The iPhone 6 Plus bends until the display pops out; however, the iPhone 6 did not bend as easily. The two then ask an Apple employee about whether the new smartphone really bends and are told that it doesn't under regular use.

At the end of the video the kids concludes that the iPhone 6 Plus really does have a bending problem and that Apple needs to fix it because "this is just f—ing stupid." Unfortunately, they didn't reach the same conclusion about posting that video.

The issue is how little force it takes to bend the plus.

I love coming to these pages just for the comments. And I was thinking. Maybe it's not all iPhones that bend. What if it was only a shipment or two of the housings that are defected.

Not one mentioned it was like that out of the box, in fact none of the past iPhones did that so there's not even a close way it would do that, it's how anyone who bought it takes care of it.

Then I would save my old iPhone and not spend more money and save up. Besides if the 6 is water resistance, maybe there is a chance liquified can fully waterproof it. If done properly, then the 6s must mean strength and not submerged because if liquipel doesn't fully waterproof it then 6s will means submerge/submarine.

Apple will sell many millions of this phone and the shareholders will make a handsome profit no matter what. Kids and adults paid by the competition can vandalize all they want. It doesn't change the facts of great sales and profits. Apple is giving us great products and excellent solutions every day. It's the best stock I ever owned. This company built my house and gave me financial security. Many others as well. The competition will never cease to try tainting Apple's products. I suggest they concentrate on introducing a comparable product instead of focusing on damaging this great company. Bless you Apple.

what a joke. Making a point over one tiny flaw that people treat their iphone like because they chose to. That's makes the best phone not then how exactly? Bending is completely optional. Apple never false advertised anything compared to mocking ads. Now that's a real point misser. Not focusing on their products some times, every now and then just show their jealousy towards Apple because they know how better they are, and beyond that, not even focusing on everyday problems that even show the cause of it.

i guess that is the interesting problem. prosecute the kids which would end up being fines for the parents? but then also gaining traction in this news of apple prosecuting kids for being able to hand bend the phone so easily with their kid strength. it would be a PR nightmare. obviously the cost is nothing to apple so i think it's their best interest to let it go. apple biggest concern is copycat vandalism. even i would be curious to gently push the phone in store to see if this is a legitimate problem. regardless, the police might pursue as it's their jobs.

Lol! A lousy phone that can bend by kids! You should also invite them to your secret testing facility like you did to some reporters and then give the bribe

I've had the 6 Plus since it came out and it's not bent. Bottom line is as with anything I own. I'm going to take care of it. The phone is too big for pockets, if you want something for your pocket get a smaller phone. Wait let me try and put my son's iPad mini in my pocket to see if it will bend.

I once carried a tablet nearly as thin as today's ipad. Not bent but I could sit comfortable with it, not too big to poke he knew but stuffing it in a pocket will make holes just like my 3ds.

Negative news is not good news for Apple. It makes poppa Cook angry and Schiller shits his pants.
gamerscul9870
gamerscul9870 - September 30, 2014 at 11:13am
What negative news? This is a misleading claim and testing how much for is really applied, thereby cook is always happy and Schiller won't be scared shitless despite that.

Thank goodness. I'm sure there is someone else who will buy the phone you wanted and use it properly instead of trying to bend it.

Why don't you treat it like the expensive equipment it is. I work for Volvo and believe it or not I ran one car into another And it bent but I dont hear others complaining about it. Get a grip. Gary

Nuck Chorris - September 29, 2014 at 11:01pm
What an awesome analogy! Have you heard of any Volvo owners complaining about their expensive pieces of equipment getting dents by simply parking in their garage like regular cars do?
Great!
Great! - October 1, 2014 at 1:14pm
Volvos get dents from doors of other cars that open into it. So what? Complain about the dents to Volvo?

Find the bullshit and you'll find the sheep producing it. Seems like the phones aren't the only things that are bent. http://m.iclarified.com/44203/consumer-reports-is-designing-an-authoritative-test-to-check-the-iphones-6-for-bending-problems
