I own both Samsung and iPhone, simply because my family upgrades all time. Having used them both since Jelly Beans and iOS5, I see no reason why people go crazy over one onr another. I am not going to touch on hardware features because Samsung camp will go nuts, and I let the majority speak for themselves. Now I talk about software and users' experience as a whole. Since day 1 with first version of iOS, Apple has demonstrated they have the team to put inplace the right pieces that offer users a fluid and complete experience. Google definitely showed the lack of experience in this area and did not offer a pleasant usable interface unitl version 4.2. Meanwhile, Apple has never stopped polishing their IOS, resulting Android being in catch-up position. I think the reason why the anti-Apple camp is larger out there is probably due to several reason, yet I think the major contributing factor are: - Carriers always push Android products(especially Samsung) because they have better margins. This initially introduced more Androids to the world as opposed iOS. The interface and ways that Android operates are PC-like, so people grasp this concept easier. Additionally, the MicroSD slot also affords people cheaper alternative to increase storage capacity. Common folks don't know or care about interface since they have to learn from scratch. Getting music or photos into an iPhone used to and still requires tye help of iTunes which pissed off a lot people, mostly guys that are used to Windows OS. Google is smart in marketing. However, from a basic programming interface viewpoint, iOS has been a little superior. Guys that complain or bash Apple do that for other reason, not for Apple's lack of ingenuity. - Samsung has stepped up to the challenge by continuously refine its flagship model by offering perks like bigger screen. This is a sore point for Apple for failing to catch on to consumers' preference. Things were already set in motion that fosters a love/hate relationship perceived by the two camps. Apple's arch enemy is actually Google, not Samsung. But now that Apple has produce bigger screen phones, the final scores hold promising spectacle. My nephew recently got a HTC M8 so I got to play with it for a while. It is a very nice phone, and in many ways better than the Samsung. Yet it sells poorly. This proves to me that people sometimes fall into the initial habit, only to find change so hard unless there is a complelling reason. Samsung camp will always say something like ' your phone does not have removable battery, or a MicroSD slot!'.

Really? Slow motion is a gimmick. It's nice to have but nobody uses that on a daily basis. If you want to talk innovation, why don't Apple let devs use the NFC radio? After so many years Apple finally decided to put NFC on their phones but locked devs out of it. Nice!

Nfc was waiting because Apple needed to make the scanner first. They planned ahead compared to a thoughtless version of samsungs. Can't rush art like that, besides it's secure, that's why developers are locked out. It's only he chips work. Now that's innovation.
