Apple is preparing to begin production of a new larger iPad in the first quarter of 2015, reports Bloomberg.
The new iPad will have a screen measuring 12.9 inches diagonally, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public. Apple currently produces iPads with 9.7-inch and 7.9-inch displays. The Cupertino, California-based company has been working with suppliers for at least a year to develop a new range of larger touch-screen devices, said the people.
Apple declined to comment on the report but there have been hints that support the rumor of a larger iPad. A recent Xcode 6 beta brought new resizable iPhone and iPad simulators. A resizable simulator is the type of tool developers would need to test their apps against larger screen sizes. Bloomberg's prediction is line with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who said Apple will release a new iPad Air this year but will hold off on updating the iPad mini or releasing a larger 12.9-inch iPad until 2015.

lol. Well said. But you missed something, Crapple's creativity is at stealing products and ideas from others and suing them for the same. As we all can see, they are really doing excellent job at it. #kudosCrapple
Who said Crapple is slow ? They are not. Now this is the copy of Samsung galaxy pro 12inch. And they are fast enough to copy and started manufacturing. #BravoCrapple
I'm not sure what your asking... What I mean is that you can write on the pad with a stylus. Having an active digitizer allows a much higher amount of accuracy when writing and or drawing, very useful for taking quick notes and if you need to draw diagrams etc. The iPad currently relies on a passive system which is very inaccurate and illegible. I doubt they would integrate it though since it would probably drive up the cost when they are already going to charge more for the larger display.
What I mean is writing on the ipad that drawings become words. But compared to that, imagine the difference of typing and writing notes. How much space does both take on the screen, how clear, and how fast is either, because to me I find typing way better than writing.
I think what you mean is handwriting recognition, yes the Surface Pro does have that and I would think it would be implemented on the iPad should they elect to include a digitizer in it. The reason wouldn't be so much to have handwriting recognition, but handwriting in general. Most people can write a sentence quicker than they can type it, also when taking notes in a class or meeting for example, often times there are things you can draw out, like equations or quick graphs etc. I've used the Surface Pro in college and it was extremely useful for the handwriting and note taking though, I couldn't get over the rest of it, hence why I stay with my MBPr. It's not for everyone, but I know a lot of people that would be interested in it. The active digitizer allows the writing or drawing to look/feel almost identical to paper, nothing like you see on the iPad now with a standard stylus, that's absolute garbage.
I was so excited about these bigger size format tablet. So i tried 12 inch samsung one but gave it to cousin within couple of days usage. Its way too big just to carry around and very uncomfortable in bed. 7 or 9 inch size is way better imho.
What about the64 bit feature? Besides the only difference between laptops and tablets is a regular keyboard, an adjustable screen without the stand (nice idea microsoft, a laptop that needs a stand) and no touch screen like laptops today are still built.
