Blog Nowwhereelse.fr has received photos of what it claims to be the logic board for the iPhone 6. The site describes the source as 'particularly reliable,' but as always, we cannot confirm the authenticity of the pictures.

The logic board looks similar to the iPhone 5s, with one exception being that the top piece bracket is much longer than previous generations., indicating significant internal design changes. It has even been noted that this leaked logic board matches up perfectly with the rear shell/casing leaks we have already seen for the iPhone 6.

The source also claims that Apple's next generation iPhone 6 will be referenced internally as N61, and will feature NFC and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. We've already heard of rumors for both NFC and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, however we cannot confirm the existence of such features on the logic board from the photos that surfaced today.

As many of you know, Apple's iPhone 6 is rumored to launch in September and could feature both a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display.

I thought iphone 5 already had 802.11ac? Why's that mentioned especially? Isn't that dual band 2.4ghz/5ghz wireless?

I guess maybe 802.11n allows only use of one of those bands at a time at up to 40mhz and 802.11ac allows both simultaneously and an 80mhz channel? The lines seem a bit blurred to me...

Maps on the other hand was something they should have left with google. Not sure what Apple and their clients have to gain by using Apple maps over Google. Many users are still unaware there was as switch and still refer to maps as google maps.

Not to claim anything, Piss-sa, but for me apple maps runs smooth on every device, even navigation doesn't disappoint, works as good as google maps, I don't even get tired of flyover view compared to google.

It's not a problem of the chip handling the maps, it's a problem of apple maps sucks, googles has the experience and all the weird road routes already figured out, I used apple maps once to go to the beach(I live about 2 hours away) and about 30 mins to the beach, it wanted me to turn down a dirt road then then drive though a barn yard to get to the next road behind this farmers big ranch. I turned around and used google maps, worked fine.

I always been with apple maps, I even tried out my maps and directions before actually traveling, then I headed to Galveston one day, went through a few gas places, some rest areas, and some ferries, but in general not off track once thereby it works perfect smooth and perfectly responsive.

Wished apple would put in a sirf chip and have off cellular-data maps The phones are bigger now and room is their ! It could and should be improvised

People asked for improve maps, maybe the a8 chip has extra handling for it. iOS 8 supports wifi calling so maybe there's a chance for this.

A sirf chip doesn't need any cellular or data it works like a stand alone GPS

Sirf chip... dude are you out of your mind sirf chip is to big. Beside there is no such "place/space" as you pretend. You forgot the battery, mic/speaker/ligthning port + home button peice, Camera,... Have you ever opened an iphone.. i think not and with the new design being even thinner there's no such place for this thing. That being said if it was possible i would highly be happy. PN: sirf chip is a (true) gps chip wich dont require your provider network (in case some people dont know) it catches low frequencies and act like a tomtom, garmin, ..

Try looking up Sirf GPS mini for smart phones ! They make mini chips Dude ! For smart phones

Dont want to be a troll about it.. even thought the sirf mini is way smaller than the bigger version you still have to make room for it and i since its not in apple's priority to put a gps chip inside i doubt it will happen soon (look how much time it took to apple to put an nfc chip and we still dont know if it'll be there) and it could have been there 3 years ago
