Apple is reportedly sampling 65-inch OLED panels from an unnamed Korean firm for the iTV, according to Seoul-based IBK Securities.
The Korea Herald relays a report from analyst Lee Seung-woo who says, “The company is making 65-inch organic light-emitting diode sample panels for Apple’s iTV in collaboration with Apple." However, "it is not certain whether Apple will use it for the mass production of its long-rumored iTV as it is still running tests."
It was expected that Apple would launch the iTV this year; however, it has reportedly delayed the launch until 2015.
“Around 2 million Apple‘s iTVs with 65- and 77-inch liquid crystal displays were expected to hit the market in the second half of this year. However, Apple employees visited this local company in October 2013 to delay the plans to next year,” said a source close to the matter on Saturday. “Following the visit, the display maker’s stock prices plunged.”
The unnamed company will reportedly become Apple's first vendor for the panels as Japan Display and Sharp are not yet capable of mass producing the large OLED display.
Although the release of a television doesn't seem likely this year, Apple is reportedly preparing to launch an updated Apple TV set-top box in the near future.
Ya at least 15k. Other companies are selling similar sizes in the 7500-10,000 range so you have to figure apple will charge roughly double like they do with all their other crap...
biggest problem is striking a deal with cable companies for content. it's not a hardware limitation. even steve couldn't, so i'm not holding my breathe. i'm not sure what they are planning but i hope it's just not a tv with a built in apple tv.
So if MacBook Pro retina has more pixels for it's display than an HDTV as said here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Neff9scaCCI, it is possible for the it display to go over MacBook pro's display?
For what? I see no pixels even seeing that close to the screen on iPod iPad or iPhone. Sure macs are pixel free from working distance but is that what you mean?
In that case it's nearly pixel free but because of MacBook Air being light and iMacs being so big, that's the reason they don't have retina or maybe they're not ready yet, apple may release a retina mb air as this site said.
I'd highly recommend the 15 inch retina MacBook Pro. I have one of the first models. When you decide to get one I'd maybe get it with 16 GB of ram. 8 is good but I wish I would have got one with 16. And also I'd recommend checking what display panel you have in it. I'm not sure if they're still having problems with the panels but the first one I got had the LG display and the color was horrible and had ghosting and burn in issues. Even though I'm not a big fan of their products, I returned it until I got the one with the Samsung panel which looks a lot better. It's probably the only good thing Samsung makes in my opinion.
You know, android is a round figure that's actually 3d. What I plan to do is to make the same for the apple logo just like the fruit and for the leaf I would make it float to make the figure more exact like it.
