iH8Sn0w Confirms Jailbreak of iOS 7.1 on iPhone 4S

Following the demonstration of an untethered iOS 7.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4, iH8Sn0w has confirmed the jailbreak of the iPhone 4S on iOS 7.1.

Winocm posted a video demonstrating the iOS 7.1 untethered jailbreak on his Verizon iPhone 4 about a week ago. At the time iH8Sn0w commented, "@winocm does this mean I have to bust out my camera and shoot an untethered 7.1 A5 boot? :P"

While we haven't spotted a video, iH8Sn0w confirmed that his iPhone 4S was jailbroken on iOS 7.1 today.

iH8Sn0w: @NGeary14 well my 4S is jailbroken on 7.1 atm.

He also warned that, "There is no public 7.1 jb atm. Any links saying so are false."

I've always believed, the best strategy would be for Apple to release a single 'Jailbreak'. You can either install it, or install a patch which blocks it. That would stop this continual rush to tear apart the OS looking for any available exploits. People could either JB or they could prevent their phones from being jailbroken by someone else (i.e. either the police or NSA). But trying to prevent everyone from jailbreaking is just delusional wish fulfilment.

Winocm starts work as an Apple intern in the fall—you don't think his boss at Apple will ask him about this jb? And consequently, it will be burned before the iOS 8 release if it has any relevance to iOS8 at all. Winocm is showing proof of concept while he is free to do so but it will be someone else like iH8Sn0w who actually releases and my guess it will be well before iOS 8, which is likely at least 6 and more probably 9 months away.

Remember how apple discontinued it like the 5? It's all because newer iPhone is what gets better unless you're already satisfied enough with the 4s, think about, who doesn't want colors in their phones though, and why have iPhone without the newer flash, 64 bit support, or any of these new things compared to the 5?

I don't think they are teasing. They are just showing that it is possible. If you think about this, it may mean that IOS 8 will be jailbreakable. But if they release the jailbreak now, Apple will fix the exploit and there may not be another one available when IOS 8 comes out. I realize that those of you who are on IOS 7.1 want a jailbreak, but IOS 8 is a major release along with the iphone 6. So it makes sense to save the exploit until IOS 8. They just released the jailbreak for IOS 7.0.6 and if you missed it or mistakenly upgraded...where were you...in never never land?

And people think jb has stopped. They say they stay on 7.0.4 and some still don't believe it.
