Apple to Update iOS With Improvements to Touch ID?

Apple is preparing an update to iOS that would improve Touch ID fingerprint recognition, reports AppleInsider.
The update would potentially resolve the 'fade' issue experienced by some iPhone 5s owners. Apparently, Apple is aware of early problems with its fingerprint scanner and has been working towards a resolution.
After launching iPhone 5s last fall, Apple has continued to work with the original AuthenTec team to improve its recognition software and will release an update relatively soon, the source confidently reported. However, AppleInsider could not verify whether the update will ship as part of iOS 7.1, which is expected to drop in mid-March.
Back in December we published an article that noted some users were complaining of degraded Touch ID accuracy. The problem, which some call 'AuthenTec Fade', results in intermittent fingerprint recognition failures over time. Rescanning of a user's prints returns Touch ID's accuracy to normal.
