Flappy Bird Has Been Removed From the App Store

Posted February 9, 2014 at 6:31pm by iClarified
Flappy Bird, the hit game which topped the App Store charts, has been removed from the store by its developer.

Developer Dong Nguyen gave the world a heads up yesterday that he would be removing the game saying, "I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore."

Nguyen didn't provide any other explanation other than "It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore."

Nguyen other two games, 'Super Ball Juggling' and 'Shuriken Block', are currently still available for those interested.

Hopefully, Nguyen can resolve the issues leading to the removal of Flappy Bird. Many would agree its one of the most frustratingly enjoyable games to ever launch on iOS.

It's not, online it's rated 4 , whether people like it or not! it's a challenge people want, it's sometching that teaches us a way to do the impossible by getting the higher score, no matter how long it takes though, the more you play the easier it gets but it only took about 5 minutes then it was simple.

This guy was smart to pull it out and take that 50k since it was a complete rip off of piou piou vs cactus. The more money he made, they would of sued him for it. Plus Nintendo would of come after him too.

I know money isn't everything, but seriously? He was making 50,000 a day off of this app and was unhappy from the "fame" it gave him. You know how many people would be grateful to make even $5,000 a day?! Why not just keep it in the App Store and donate the money to good causes. That's what I would have done. Maybe doing that would have made him a happier person.

It's not like he stopped making money, removing it from the App Store doesn't remove it from people who already downloaded it. He's making money off the people that play it with the in game ads, as the game was free. He is still making money...

Sometimes money isnt enough to make yourself stop felling unhappy. Look at all the hate people gave him on twitter, and even if i was paid 50000$ a day i would not feel ok.... Some people can live with that other cant i respect his decision.
