Ever since I updated to High Sierra my Apple remote is controlling my Mac. I have made sure that the box shown in this feed is clicked and it is still controlling it. Any ideas? I have restarted multiple times, unchecked and rechecked and nothing.
In terminal, type this (you will need to enter your admin password):
sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIRController.kext
Ignore errors. It should work
Wow never thought it could be this easy with my Mac and AppleTV, thanks to my Virtual Assitant from DGTL.im - Life couldn't get any much easier with this guys.. Highly recommended!
Thank you very much worked straight away with clear cut instructions and no complications like many other sites. Straight to the point. For some reason I am having trouble commenting but I just wanted to thank you.
Im straight up sick if my parents and sister controlling the computer while im streaming. They are all netflix fanatics and for some reason, they can never find a movie to watch, so continuous song, volume and play changing.
Thanks iClarified!
It so sent work in my imac, i have a 21.4 in late 2012 with os 10.9.1 and i only get he first two options of the window, and i know for sure that my mac has an ir port because i have trouble when controlling my ATV, does some one know how to make that option appear in the window.
Don't be one of those people that have to post a stupid comment just because they can. I'm sure there as things you might not have known until someone posted it.
Helped me solve the problem to stop activating iTunes on my iMac, while while streaming a movie to iTv in my small apartment. Glad they shared this "common" knowledge, was not common to me. TSK TSK = snobbery
