Apple has reportedly blocked the kernel exploit used by the evasi0n jailbreak of iOS 7, according to iH8sn0w. The exploit was blocked in the iOS 7.1b4 firmware just released to developers.
So the code sign bug that evasi0n7 uses still exists in 7.1b4. Kernel exploit looks patched though :P
meaning… Don’t expect an evasi0n7 update for 7.1b4+ support.
The news is unfortunate; however, we still don't know what exploits will be blocked in the final release of iOS 7.1 and what exploits the evad3rs have alternatives for.
Just don't update to 7.1
I'd never give up the huge range of possibilities from a jailbreak for a couple of stupid changes.
Anything interesting about 7.1 is either taken from the jb community or will be ported across to older devices as a cydia tweak.
If the evasi0n crew took some money then good for them, as a part of the jailbreak community it's easy to whine about them doing that, but they are the ones doing all the work so I don't feel that we have a right to bash them for anything.
If they had have taken money to not release a jb then maybe yeah bash them. Even then they don't owe us anything and we should be grateful for the hard work they put in.
The evad3rs kept quiet about the jailbreak, releasing just two update through the 3 months they were working on it. (Plus the extra time they had working with iOS 7 betas). So for all we know they may still have a few exploits held back that they didnt use in evasi0n7? Maybe thats why it released a lot earlier than everybody anticipated?
