Apple Acknowledges Manufacturing Issue Affecting Battery Life of Some iPhone 5s Devices

Apple has acknowledged a manufacturing issues with a limited number of iPhone 5s devices that could cause the battery to drain quickly, reports the New York Times.
“We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5S devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life,” said Teresa Brewer, an Apple spokeswoman. “We are reaching out to customers with affected phones and will provide them with a replacement phone.”
Apple didn't specify how many devices were defective but the report suggests that it was only a few thousand phones.
Additionally, the issue is not a defective battery as some users had previously believed.
