A new report from CTech claims that Apple has cut production of the iPhone 5c in half due to dismal sales.
We learned from insiders, because the actual dismal sales, Apple has begun to reduce capacity iPhone 5C after iPhone 5C average daily production was 300,000, now reduced to 150,000.
The higher than expected price for the iPhone 5c is being blamed for poor sales. According to the report, gray channel prices have already dropped significantly on the device while the price for the iPhone 5s remains relatively stable. The iPhone 5c price set by Apple is 4,488 yuan but it's being sold on the gray market for 3,500 yuan, says the report.
Notably, iPhone 5c prices in the U.S. have dropped as well. Walmart recently announced it would offer the 16GB iPhone 5c for $45 with a cellular contract. That's down from its $99 retail price.
Planned or not.... With Apple people so strong on the past designs... To make a move towards anything in the older phones or Android realm... Yeah probably a for sure flop even if they have the potential to look good.
If there is a flop, how come it's been the same after 6 whole years of iPhone now with awards, performance, and durability? If anything got to flop like head but in the ass, it's microsuck and crackberry!
I meant someone other than you iCrack! 5c is for people who can easily pay for iPhone and wait less! It may be plastic, but it's the most it can be for being cheap!

LOL @Tim Cook...betting on the not-so-cheap cheap iPhone 5C and made tons of them instead of the iPhone 5S and nobody came. In the process infuriated iPhone afficionados by rewarding them as much as 3 weeks of delay to get their higher-than high end GOLD iPhone 5S. Bravo! Tim Cook, Bravo!
Maybe there are choices, colors and PAY LESS or use one with aluminum and pay more even if it means buying cases for color, they did what they could to make it low cost, they're not trying to make it like the 4s price, they want everyone to have iPhone but they can still save money by buying this cheaper version with hard cases, simple as that!
Who really cares about color when most people keep their phone in a case anyway. Even though I fought like a mad woman to get the gold one. LOL Plus, I don't want anyone pointing at me and saying, "oh, you got the cheap iPhone."
To be more specific, we, consumers, tend to buy iPhones because of how well ecosystem works in US regions. Not the colors nor functionality. If anyone was seeking for color choices/specs, they would rather go for android or nokia. 5c is basically previous gen with color coded. Which not alot of people would go for.
It's not your fault you can't predict how easier it is for 5c really would have been, look how many have been sold overall though, not like sales would have decreased if this 5c didn't happen!
I totally agree, the iPhone 5c was a failure, however, they made "some" easy bucks just by adding a little bit larger battery and plastic cover. I think they made the iPhone 5c just because they would earn more money, you see, somehow iPhone 5c did sell very good.

Indeed! I think they would have fared even better with their previous (rather boring) approach to keep selling iPhone 5 as the entry range phone. I think people would rather buy a nicely made metal phone than a plastic thing with all the same old tech inside... Of course iPhone 5c would be a good thing to supply kids with, but not at that price!
Ok, sure 5c is a redesign but the 5 is still selling (rather yet expensive) in stores, iPhone 5c wanted to do the same like the nanos did by color, that's why it's colors but for everyone to have iPhone, this is why it's redesigned, so everyone can afford one! @Fandom rude, I think you predict plastic iPhones as a gimmick just because it's a copy of the 5, sincerely, samsheep! @matrixfaniac they still are, they would give up on something they just made, they made it so people would have two choices, either colorful and spend less or better material with all the cases to chose from! They still sell 4s, why not 5?
Innovation is creating a product or feature that works reliably, where are all those fingerprinting laptops you are talking about? Apple made a great feature, its only a matter of time before samsung copies it.
