iWork, iLife Suites to Go Free With iOS 7 Launch?

iWork, iLife Suites to Go Free With iOS 7 Launch?

Posted July 9, 2013 at 3:29pm by iClarified
With the launch of of the new iWork for iCloud Web Apps, it was speculated that the iWork suite could go free when iOS 7 officially launches this fall. Apple would have to make apps like Pages, Keynote and Numbers free on the Mac if it expects users to seamlessly transfer documents between their Apple product, especially with their launch of iWork for iCloud Web Apps.

Today real evidence surface that actually supports the idea. When users launch the App Store for the first time on their iOS device, they are presented a screen with Recommended Apple Apps. These apps have always been free. However, In the latest iOS 7 Beta 3 build, the recommended free apps screen actually shows the iWork Suite (Numbers, Pages and Keynote) as well as Garageband, iPhoto and iMovie.

If Apple were to offer their iWork suite for free, it would be a huge blow to both Google and Microsoft's current office suites. Microsoft is already rumored to bring its Office tools to iOS and having iWork to compete with would surely put a dent in their user base.

I downloaded iWork for free in the morning. And now apple sent me receipts with prices on them. I filed for refund, it's just confusing bullshit.
