The evad3rs have updated the status of the evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 6.0 - iOS 6.1 devices. Private beta testing has started and we are 75% of the way to completion!
75%: Linux version is still on the works. Private beta testing has started for OS X and Windows. Come back soon!

Look at the iPhones in the picture on the website. It has a 3 for the date. That is why people assume it will be then. Plus one of the guys tweeted asking what iPhone users will be doing Super Bowl Sunday.
If you had really been researching this, you would have read the other article from this site where it was stated "The new team of hackers consists of Pod2g, Planetbeing, MuscleNerd, and Pimskeks. Following the release of iOS 6.1, Planetbeing confirmed that their untethered jailbreak works with the firmware and MuscleNerd hinted that the jailbreak could be released on Sunday."
