Apple Releases SMC Firmware Update for MacBooks

Apple today released a SMC Firmware Update for the MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

This update addresses a rare issue on some Apple notebooks where a battery that has accumulated more than 1000 charge cycles may unexpectedly shut down or stop functioning.

I don't get no updates on this for my macbook pro ! WHY ?

No lithium battery should even be used beyond 1000 cycle counts. And that cycle number the battery would be shot and run the risk of expanding.
