Griffin Unveils New Kiosk Retail, AirStrap Retail POS Solutions for iPad

Griffin has unveiled new Kiosk Retail and AirStrap Retail solutions for point of sale on the iPad.



Kiosk Retail
Griffin’s new Kiosk Retail, starting at $299, adds a built-in magnetic card reader with TDES encryption and DUKPT key management for security. Kiosk Retail displays an iPad 2 or iPad (3rd generation) inside an impact-resistant housing. All cables are routed through the center of the steel armature for a beautiful, clean installation in any environment.


Griffin has partnered with point of sale system providers ShopKeep POS and POSiOS to provide apps.

● ShopKeep POS has a patent-pending POS app for iPad that gives merchants the power to run and analyze their businesses in an elegant, easy-to-use and inexpensive cloud-based interface. ShopKeep POS provides retailers with a robust iPad POS solution that can swipe hundreds of credit card per day and help merchants manage inventory, reports, and customers anywhere and anytime. ● POSiOS has revolutionized the way restaurants integrate iOS devices into their cash register solutions. The Belgian company has developed a restaurant POS app called Restaurant Butler that provides restaurant staff with an easy-to-use, fully customizable iPad cash register. The app also enables multiple devices at a time, giving waiters a mobile client they can use to place orders tableside and send to the kitchen in multiple languages. Additionally, Restaurant Butler brings a new restaurant experience to the consumer with self-ordering, remote table reservations, and restaurant location services.



AirStrap Retail
AirStrap Retail, $49.99, reimagines mobile POS by combining Griffin’s Airstrap for iPad with support for MagTek’s iDynamo credit card reader. AirStrap Retail provides molded-in structural support for iDynamo, ensuring that card swipes are error-free and without additional mechanical stress to the iPad or its connector.


AirStrap Retail protects the iPad with contoured grips and complete access to the iPad’s controls and ports. The built-in neoprene strap makes holding the iPad with one hand easy and secure, allowing the other hand to easily manipulate the touch screen or swipe cards through MagTek’s iDynamo magnetic card reader. AirStrap Retail will be available in January.
